Practice History

Practice

After completing residency, I worked as a staff psychiatrist, and then lead psychiatrist, for approximately 2 years, for ACT team in Unison Behavioral Health Group, Toledo, Ohio, which is a community mental health program.  I worked there as a staff psychiatrist, as well as team leader for ACT team (Assertive Community Treatment Team), and managed extremely challenging psychiatric patients.  Many of these patients were considered as having treatment-resistant mental illness, and severe mental disorders classified as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI).  I also worked on a part-time basis at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio, as a staff inpatient and consultation-liaison psychiatrist.

In November of 2017, I moved to California to join a private psychiatric outpatient group called TMS Health Solutions.  This organization specialized in providing novel and one of the most effective treatments of treatment resistant depression called TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation).  I remained with them for a year, working as an outpatient psychiatrist, as well as mastering the skill of TMS.

In January of 2019, I joined Wellbridge Healthcare hospital Fort Worth Texas, which is 48 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital.  At Wellbridge, I function as an inpatient and intensive outpatient psychiatrist, as well as Medical Director of the hospital.  I am working in this role until present.  I treat geriatric and adult population.  My role as a clinician is to thoroughly evaluate my patients, to make appropriate diagnoses, to make comprehensive an individualized treatment plans, and to treat them safely and effectively following the latest treatment guidelines, and to ensure the best treatment outcomes possible.

As Medical Director, I ensure that physicians, hospital administration, and other disciplines including nursing and clinical services, work together as a team to ensure the best patient care possible.

In January of 2021, I also accepted a position of Medical Director of the inpatient geriatric unit at Millwood Hospital, Arlington, Texas. There I worked until Feb. 4th, 2022

I work with a team of a physician assistant and a medical scribe.  I supervise and discuss clinical cases with my team on a daily basis, and ensure the best patient care and positive treatment outcomes which we can provide.  I always stay available for my clinical team for supervision, and if they have any questions.

In short, I have a combined 20 years’ experience in medical and psychiatric environments in the U.S. and Pakistan.  I have expertise and drive to continually enhance the quality of patient outcomes in psychiatric care.  I have clinical experience in diverse psychiatric settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency and consultation liaison psychiatry.  I have achieved repeated recognition from colleagues and mentors for improving treatment outcomes for complex and treatment resistant patients throughout my career.  Because of my work ethic, dedication, and good patient outcomes, I was offered key positions, teaching and leadership roles, throughout my career, including residency and afterwards, working as an attending psychiatrist.
